I first encountered acupuncture when suffering from a herniated disc in my lower back. No other modality had helped, neither conventional nor holistic. The deep healing of Chinese medicine offered a way to resolve my physical pain and support my mental-emotional body as well. The positive impact of that experience on my life inspired me to study this ancient medicine and dedicate myself to its teachings and practice.
I see patients who have a wide array of concerns, including allergies, alpha gal, women’s health, fertility, pediatric care, musculoskeletal pain, anxiety, insomnia, fatigue, migraines, digestive concerns, autoimmune disorders and support during and after cancer treatment.
I am a certified SAAT practitioner, using this protocol to treat alpha-gal (tick born disease) and other allergies like animal, environmental and food related allergies.
Acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition, vitamin supplementation, and lifestyle play a large role in my healing practice.
In addition to relieving my patient’s pain and symptoms, I focuses on discovering and resolving the underlying cause of the imbalance to engender true and resilient health and well-being so you can thrive in life.
Having practiced now for 18 years, I continued my post-graduate studies by diving deeply into fertility and pregnancy support, pediatric care, psycho-social-emotional health, and most recently, I completed a year-long program in functional medicine specializing in women’s health.
I studied functional medicine for a year with Aviva Romm M.D. focusing on women’s health.
I am a nationally board certified acupuncturist, licensed in Virginia and California. I received my Masters degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbalism in 2008 from the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture. After an 9-month in-depth apprenticeship with a world renowned acupuncturist, I began private practice in Los Angeles. I spent the 12 years in L.A. running my successful private practice which organically expanded into a wellness center.
I am also certified in medical Qi Gong & Reiki and have been a yoga instructor since 2005. In addition to Chinese herbs, I have clinical experience with western herbal medicine, homeopathy, and the medicinal use of essential oils.
I grew up in the beautiful rolling hills of Rappahannock County, Virginia, only an hour from Charlottesville. Here I was first exposed to holistic health and began my studies in herbal medicine as a teenager. I moved back to Virginia from California in 2021, landing in Albemarle county. I now live on a farm with my husband, my 9-year-old son and our cat and our horses, play in the stream and frolic in nature whenever we wish.
